TuDiabetes.org

A community for people touched by diabetes

TuDiabetes.org ® was founded in March 2007, becoming the first social network focused on diabetes. It was soon dubbed “MySpace on Insulin” and later on called “Facebook for diabetics.” TuDiabetes welcomes people with diabetes and their loved ones, who are also touched by the disease.

Within a few months, dozens of members turned into hundreds and, by World Diabetes Day 2007 (November 14), the network had already passed 1,300 members.

Membership has continued to grow at a monthly rate of 5 to 10%. As of January 2010, TuDiabetes has nearly 13,000 registered members and is receiving almost 80,000 unique visitors every month.

TuDiabetes.org has garnered media attention, getting featured in the Diane Rehm Show (NPR) and the Office of Minority Health, among others. It has also been mentioned on the LA Times, ABC News, Business Week and The Baltimore Sun.
